Ali Berger is a New York City-based electronic musician and DJ. The heart of his work is a lovingly-cultivated practice of improvisation as part of a balanced spiritual life that's always growing. Sometimes the result sounds like the mechanized funk of Midwest house and techno; other times it's layered melodies and gently freaked rhythms native to the drum machines and grooveboxes Ali programs in real-time. Constantly recording and sharing via his Trackland imprint (and recent offshoots Dreaming Dog and DepthWorks Audio Geometry), Ali continues to build an open world of music and visual art now over 400 tracks deep across more than 90 releases. He also writes and shares videos about the creative process, sketching connections between the nuts and bolts of getting work done and the parts of our emotional lives that run things behind the scenes. Whether making music, DJing, or playing one of his fully-improvised live sets, Ali arrives with the intention to loosen up and be curious about whatever strange truth each moment has to offer.
